From Brief to Delivery

Great photography starts with a discussion and it's results should fuel discussion, like any art form. We allocate plenty of time to talking about your project before we start shooting, so that we connect with you, understand your brief and are happy we can deliver on your expectations. There are many good photographers in the world, but great commercial photographers are those that that can get into the mind of their client, interpret the brief, and bring creativity to the solution. High Art photography brings the sizzle!

We have just sold our house and the photos Stephen took certainly helped sell it! The drone shots were the star of the show and really helped show boundaries of our property. Thanks

Terms and Conditions

I am a self employed Commercial and Advertising Photographer. These T and C’s are designed to give clarity around the services I offer and conditions that need to be met.

Standard turnaround time is 2 days. Rush delivery is as advertised. Next day +50%, Same day +100%.

Shot choice: I usually shoot more than the supplied shots. I make the selection, and do postproduction work on those images only. You will not be supplied a ‘proof sheet’ to make a selection. My production schedule is very time sensitive so I follow strict internal processes. If you require more participation in this area, please advise.

Special requests: If you request something that requires me to incur any delays or associated cost, I will advise you and charge those costs at my stated rates.

Weather: I endeavour to shoot in fine/ blue sky weather. However, if a schedule is made, and deadline given, and no further rescheduling provided, I will shoot. I don’t ‘drop in’ blue skies. If the weather in the shots doesn’t meet your expectations, you can have your retoucher work on them, but I won’t take responsibility for their work. I can reschedule a second visit, but that will incur a second visit fee, and will only involve weather related shots.

Cancellations: If you choose to cancel a Photoshoot, for any reason, more than 7 days out from the shoot, I will refund you your fee in full. If you cancel less than 7 days out from a scheduled shoot I will refund you 50% of your photoshoot Fee. If you cancel less than 1 day out fromthe scheduled Photoshoot, You will not be refunded your Fee.

Guarantee: My work doesn’t come with any guarantees, either implied or otherwise

I will however, do the job to the best of my abilities within the confines of the conditions. The quality and presentation of the property and weather can be extremely big factors with regards to outcomes and they are both outside of my control. If there is a technical issue with regards to my equipment, I will redo the images that were affected by this.

By commissioning me, I expect that you have seen a good representation of my work, either published, on my website or in an art gallery. I use my own personal standards as my guideline and always challenge myself to meet them.

Presentation: Properties are expected to be presented ready for photography on the time/ day that is arranged. I do move small items around to help show the home off to its best. (cushions, kettles, bowls of fruit, move rubbish bins etc) I don’t rake leaves, cut grass, sweep, tidy childrens rooms, pick up laundry, move outdoor furniture etc etc. Return visits will be charged at the second visit rate.

Meeting Deadlines: If I’m given a deadline at time of booking, I work to meet it. I do try to reschedule to accommodate inclement weather. If you don’t contact me to say that the deadline has been extended, I will shoot in inclement weather to meet the deadline.

Delays: Any unforeseen delays caused by the client will be charged at $150/hour. (Waiting for tradespeople to finish, the key isn’t available, the homeowner doesn’t come home as arranged, the alarm code is wrong etc)

Digital retouching: Required for scaffolding or parked cars or uncut or ungrown grass or construction bins or debris will be charged at my standard retouching fee and no guarantees are given or implied about the subsequent results. (the client has the opportunity to have their retoucher do this work if they so desire)

Payment for photography is to be credited to my account prior to the shoot unless otherwise arranged. Post production fees and any extras will be invoiced at the completion of the job. Invoicing is to the person paying the bill, unless arranged prior.

Administration, Retouching, Image Preparation Rate: $150/hr.

Mileage is included in the photography shoot fee within the urban Auckland area. This is: Albany in the North, Massey in the West, Howick in the East,

Papatoetoe in the South, and Titirangi in the West.  Mileage charges are 82c/km outside of these areas. If unsure whether mileage may charged, please enquire.

Copyright: all images remain the copyright of the photographer. License to use the images will only be issued upon full payment of the Photographers Invoice in Full. The license to use the images is given to the Homeowner/Vendor and is not extended to Real Estate agents and cannot be passed on to subsequent owners of the property, or any other agency, or magazine without the written and express permission from the photographer. Failure to comply with this condition is a breach of contract.

I have read these terms and conditions and agree with them in full.
